Other & Do Lessard

June 4 – July 15, 2026

Opening Reception: Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

This exhibition brings together the works of Other and Do Lessard around a shared interest in human relationships, lived experience, and the stories that shape our identities.

Although their practices take distinct paths, both artists are concerned with what connects us to one another. For Other, the works emerge from observations gathered through travel, encounters, and ordinary scenes of urban life. His paintings capture fragments of everyday experience where the tensions, contradictions, and beauty of the human condition come into view. Populating his compositions with vulnerable and imperfect figures, he creates a universe deeply rooted in the observation of reality.

For Do Lessard, painting serves as a space for inner exploration. Guided by emotion, colour, and improvisation, he develops his works directly on the canvas. Figures transform, overlap, and fragment throughout the process, reflecting a period marked by conflict, resilience, and acceptance.

Through complementary approaches, both artists place lived experience at the centre of their practice. Their works explore love, isolation, community, and the bonds that connect us, reminding us that our identities are shaped through contact with others, the stories we share, and the experiences that transform us.
