Étude was born out of a shared interest in artistic practices developed outside traditional channels. The gallery brings together self-taught artists who share a direct connection to their community, to space, and to lived experience.

We are particularly interested in marginalized forms of creation. Graffiti and Inuit art have long been excluded from dominant art narratives. Yet these practices embody powerful visual languages, rich cultural knowledge, and essential worldviews.

Étude adopts an independent, non-academic stance. Our approach is political in that it rejects cultural neutrality and traditional artistic hierarchies. We believe in art that is accessible, vibrant, and rooted in its time.

The gallery serves as a portal for artistic communication: a meeting place for practices, communities, and realities that do not always share the same spaces.
