Biography
Born in 1973 in Los Angeles (United States), Augustine Kofie is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice has its roots in graffiti, before evolving from street art toward geometric abstraction. Self-taught, he blends techniques from graffiti, architecture, and collage to create a retrofuturistic style characterized by structured forms, clean lines, and a color palette inspired by 1960s visuals.
Active since the 1990s on the Los Angeles urban scene, Kofie began his career in graffiti and began exhibiting in galleries in 2002.
His works have been shown in numerous galleries and institutions around the world, and he is recognized as a leading figure in the “Graffuturism” movement.
