Biography
Other is an artist whose practice revolves around the human figure, which he approaches as a vehicle for narrative, memory, and lived experience. With a background in graffiti and recognized as a leading figure in contemporary urban art, he has spent several decades developing a visual universe deeply shaped by observations of everyday life, travel, and human encounters.
Through a dense and spontaneous style, Other creates expressive characters that straddle the line between caricature and realism. His works depict figures marked by the passage of time, inspired by people he has encountered during his travels, photographs he has collected, and fragmented impressions. Blending dreams, memories, and darker imaginings, his work gives form to a humanity that is vulnerable, imperfect, and deeply sensitive.
His practice is also rooted in a constant process of transformation and reinterpretation. Drawings, paintings, and sculptures engage in a dialogue with one another, with certain works being revisited and integrated into new ensembles over time. His hand-carved wooden sculptures extend this approach by giving his characters a physical, almost living presence.
